Art masks for sale
Masks are always enigmas and the more complex and sophisticated their design, the greater their fascination. Many cultures feature masks in ritual or recreation and/or as decoration. Sometimes a mask simply hides an identity (e.g. in Japanese No theatre), sometimes a mask confers on its wearer the identity of the person (e.g. Spiderman) or spirit being (e.g. the Balinese Barong) it represents.

Masks have been made of various materials, including cloth, wood, hides and feathers and plastic. Dax Designs masks are made wholly or partly of papier mache, as this material offers mask-makers great flexibility in designing, producing and finishing their masks. Dax Designs features a range of masks in its Gallery and offers a commercial line of small, decorative masks in its 'Deco Times' series.

'Egyptiana' artifacts
Societies and cultures never stand still and ‘Ancient Egypt’ (3,000 BC - 500AD) saw many changes in art, sculpture and architecture. Nonetheless, they accompanied a remarkable artistic consistency, which is why we can talk of a single ‘Ancient Egyptian’ style.

The Dax Designs 'Egytpiana' artifacts draw on ancient Egypt's motifs and designs to produce striking items for home adnornment.
