The pinnacle of the Chrysler Building in New York is probably the best-known example of the Art Deco motif of the sunburst. On each side of the rectangular, 7-storey pinnacle, metal panels form a gleaming, stylised sunburst - a symbol of confidence in the present and optimism about the future. Patrick's Sunburst mask features a series of sunbursts in soft pinks against a moss-green background, but transforms them into an exotic headdress of celebration.
