This papier mache mask evokes Namarrkon, a sprit in the cosmology of the Kunwinjku people of northern Australia. Patrick's mask doesn't reproduce a specific vision of Namarrkon, but evokes some elements common to all. On the joints of Namarrkon's long, spindly limbs, stone axes swing and clash to create thunder and the electric blue lightning that plays around Namarrkon's head, with its blank, staring eyes.
